Ernie Pitt - editor of the Chronicle requested a mural that depicted the "Black Press" in the US.

This mural displays a large printing press in the background with various editors and their newspapers beginning as early as the 1700's and up to and including the 1960's.

It features a large image of Frederick Douglass as well as one of his quotes.
