This is a depiction of Miller's Department Store circa 1930 - just after it opened on Trade Street. It shows the store as it existed at the time along with itinerant blues musician Blind Boy Fuller who would follow the Tobacco Markets from town to town to make a little money as he played on street corners. The people pictured are Mr. and Mrs. Miller (now deceased) and sons Richard and Nathan Miller, the artist and her husband and a few others who worked at Miller's at that time.
